Abstract:
سهترکیبژنوتیپی GHRH A GHRH A، GHRH A GHRH B و GHRH B GHRH B شناساییشدندکهفراوانیهایژنوتیپیمحاسبه شدهآنهادرکلجمعیتبهترتیببرابر 0357/0، 3037/0 و 6607/0 بود.آزمون مربع کای تعادل هاردی- واینبرگ را در جمعیت نشان داد (05/0

A dominant-negative human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) receptor splice variant inhibits GHRH binding.
GHRH is a hypothalamic peptide that stimulates the synthesis and secretion of GH from pituitary somatotroph cells. The GHRH receptor is a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that localizes to the surface of somatotroph cells and binds GHRH. Alternative splicing of the GHRH receptor primary transcript at the intron/exon boundary 3' of exon 11 results in inclusion of sequence that is n...
full textGrowth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) antagonists inhibit the proliferation of androgen-dependent and -independent prostate cancers.
The antiproliferative effects of an antagonist of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) JV-1-38 were evaluated in nude mice bearing s.c. xenografts of LNCaP and MDA-PCa-2b human androgen-sensitive and DU-145 androgen-independent prostate cancers. In the androgen-sensitive models, JV-1-38 greatly potentiated the antitumor effect of androgen deprivation induced by surgical castration, but was i...
full textGrowth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) activates sleep regulatory neurons of the rat preoptic hypothalamus
We examined whether growth hormone releasing hormone GHRH may promote non-REM sleep via activation of GABAergic neurons in the preoptic area. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were implanted with EEG, EMG electrodes and a unilateral intracerebroventricular (icv) cannula. Groups of rats received icv injections (3 μl) with GHRH (0.1 nmol/100 g body wt) or equal volume of physiological saline at the onset ...
full textThe Mutant Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH) Receptor of the Little Mouse Does Not Bind GHRH1.
The little mouse is a dwarf strain characterized by low levels of GH, pituitary hypoplasia, and an unresponsiveness to treatment with exogenous GHRH. The defect has been mapped to a missense mutation in the GHRH receptor gene that abolishes the function of the receptor, but the mechanism of this inactivation is unknown. Receptor function might be affected at the level of protein expression, mat...
full textAntagonists of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) reduce prostate size in experimental benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), a hypothalamic polypeptide, acts as a potent autocrine/paracrine growth factor in many cancers. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a pathologic proliferation of prostatic glandular and stromal tissues; a variety of growth factors and inflammatory processes are inculpated in its pathogenesis. Previously we showed that potent synthetic antagonists of GH...
full textActivation of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) receptor stimulates cardiac reverse remodeling after myocardial infarction (MI).
Both cardiac myocytes and cardiac stem cells (CSCs) express the receptor of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH), activation of which improves injury responses after myocardial infarction (MI). Here we show that a GHRH-agonist (GHRH-A; JI-38) reverses ventricular remodeling and enhances functional recovery in the setting of chronic MI. This response is mediated entirely by activation of GHRH...
